RAMPF uses the latest robot technology
"Rudi 2090" robot creates prototypes
The latest robot technology from KUKA is now being used for near-series prototyping in application engineering at RAMPF Giessharze, one of the leading manufacturers of two-component systems for sealing, casting, bonding and designing. Integrating the robot into RAMPF Dosiertechnik mixing and dispensing systems makes two-component systems even more dynamic, as the robot technology enables short cycle times and achieves pose repeatability of +/- 0.06 mm. The robot, dubbed "Rudi 2090" by RAMPF Giessharze, is from the Quantec robot series and features a control system that integrates not only motion, sequence and process control but also complete safety control. Adding the robot technology to its operations enables RAMPF Giessharze to respond even more effectively to customers' specific needs. Application engineering at RAMPF Dosiertechnik already uses a robot.

Application engineering forms the interface between customers and the development department at RAMPF Giessharze. Newly developed materials made from epoxy, polyurethane and silicon and existing customer systems are tested and optimised here directly on a wide range of equipment. In all, six applied mixing and dispensing systems from sister company RAMPF Dosiertechnik are available for the application tests in four separate rooms. Prototypes are created and models and pilot series are produced at the prototype pilot plant, which is also used for performing the material tests.
